Workplace conflict is normal. Effectively resolving conflict at work, however... Not so much. Typically, coworkers experiencing protracted or complex conflict need the help of a third-party expert. If workplace conflict is managed properly, we can reduce unnecessary stress that limits productivity, morale, and innovation. By taking a proactive approach to reducing conflict in your organization, I help create a positive impact on employee well-being, employee turnover, and ultimately the bottom line. Together, we can create a happier, more collaborative and effective team.
Transforming Workplace Conflicts
Conflict can manifest powerful and positive transformation when handled properly. My unique approach to peacebuilding in the workplace emerges from my diverse consulting experience in various industries and companies, a thorough and evolving understanding of the science of peacebuilding and conflict resolution, and a robust personalized analysis of the acute and underlying systemic reasons for conflict in your organization. Once we identify the acute and systemic challenges limiting your company's potential, we co-create a plan toward improved organizational health that includes practical, actionable peacebuilding strategies.
By clearly identifying your team’s challenges and creating a customized plan to overcome them, organizational risks can be isolated and mitigated, reducing the potential for conflict in the future. Additionally, with improved skills around conflict resolution, your team of employees or executives can work more collaboratively and learn how to overcome challenges together, leading to positive change in company culture.
How can you alleviate workplace stress, improve morale, and cultivate a happier, more productive work environment for your employees? How can you create an environment where company vision and values are executed with motivation, innovation, and efficiency? I see benefits in shifting overall culture so that the workplace can be sustainable in managing conflict rather than experiencing losses every time conflict emerges.
Organization conflict is inevitable. Through conflict analysis, I can help you understand how culture can be optimized both from the top down and the bottom up so that mindset shifts and behavior changes create positive impact in your company. My unique workplace peacebuilding program can support you in offering more security, productivity, collaboration, and joy at work.
My Workplace Peacebuilding Process
A typical Workplace Peacebuilding process includes an organizational conflict analysis which is conducted through interviews, observations, and surveys. My team and I will develop a report of findings which include a proposal of strategies that can be implemented to reduce conflict and improve working relationships. We’ll suggest an action plan, which may include a combination of coaching, training, dialogue, and a variety of other conflict resolution or communication interventions to help improve overall culture. Group coaching can be customized to address the needs of employees, managers, and/or executives while one-on-one coaching is meant to support those at the leadership level so they can implement best practices around organizational conflict. A detailed analysis of program impact will be offered which gauges employee’ attitudes, company productivity, turnover, and general ROI.
Partnering with HR
While I assess and help implement new systems to address organizational conflict, I also believe it’s important to work closely with the company’s HR leaders, who may already have their finger on the pulse of the company's challenges. My programs involve HR leaders in the process and regularly pull them in for insight and to collaborate on a process of change that can be sustainable over time.
